RESEARCH REQUESTS Barbara Hewitson, a part-time “very mature” student, is embarking on a master’s research degree on “Supply teachers - equal opportunities?”. She would welcome teachers’ stories and comments by fax to 0115 967 8692 or by letter to: 25 Burton Drive, Beeston, Nottingham NB9 5NS.

Becky Nuttall is undertaking a survey for the Teaching Adults and Further Education Certificate of Adult Basic Education classes and the problems of low enrolment and high dropout rates. She would like ABE tutors to write to her about their good or bad experiences at: The Chapel House, Drew Street, Brixham, Devon TQ5 9JY.

STUDENT EXCHANGE Sirje Winbo and Marie Akerberg, two teachers of English at St Mikaels-skolan, 792 80 Mora, Sweden, are planning to visit England with a group of 17-18-year-old students as the finale to a year-long course on British history, geography, nature, education and culture. Since they hope to visit schools and would like the group to stay with fellow students’ families, they would be glad to hear from any school interested in an exchange.
