Teachers, especially headteachers, have only themselves to blame for the traumas, sometimes requiring psychiatric help, they experience as a result of an inspection by the Office for Standards in Education.
After a “good” OFSTED inspection teachers revel in the praise of their peers and parents. This is an inappropriate reaction. The proper professional response is indifference to both good and bad reports prepared, as they are, by outsiders who can know little or nothing of the problems confronting individual schools. Be professional: scorn the praise.
