Inspectors praise 'failing' school

THE first secondary school in the West Country to be branded as failing has now been praised by inspectors as "a good school with outstanding leadership".

Teaching standards are now "consistentlygood" at Tamarside community college in Plymouth, which was placed on special measures in 1994. It was taken out of special measures in 1997 and in January gained technology college status.
