MINISTERS have announced trials of interactive digital broadcasting to support the GCSE curriciulum.

Over the next year, broadcasters including the BBC and Granada Media, will work with the Department for Education and Employment to produce science, history and maths programmes which pupils can access through computers as well as televisions. The technology will allow pupils to interrupt broadcasts in order to access built-in links to Internet sites holding background materials.
