“Homepage” has nearly worn itself out as an Internet word. But there are some homepages in educational research that deserve a new kind of title. Perhaps “open book” would fit better. Jack Whitehead at Bath University and Harvey Goldstein at London University’s Institute of Education are very different kinds of researchers providing access to their work for the rest of us to learn from.
Jack Whitehead, with postgraduate research students, presents a particular and challenging form of action research (and a short video clip) that will strike a chord with many teachers. Go to: www.bath.ac.ukedsajw Professor Goldstein has also had the confidence to present his work in this way. Methodologically-informed commentaries on current issues in education, including a critique accusing school-effectiveness researchers of “aiding and abetting Government policies” can be found at: www.ioe.ac.ukhgldstn
