The popularisation of property development through television programmes has led West Lothian College to establish what it believes is a unique property investment course. With the help of an Edinburgh property entrepreneur, the 10-week course will not focus on aspects such as contracts, tax and finance. Roddy Sutherland, a property investor before he became director of commercialisation at the college, says the course can capitalise on the fact that rising house prices will boost the purchase of properties for rent. Would-be investors would be given “the tools to succeed in the marketplace”.
