SO much for the toothpaste being out of the tube. Hank Roberts, the high profile campaigner for teaching union unity may have come within a whisker of the winning the ATL general secretary election but his favourite topic barely got a hearing. Resolutions calling for the union to affiliate to the pro-merger Professional Unity 2000 were too far down the agenda on Monday for delegates to debate.
