HATS OFF to the OFSTED inspector who took advantage of a sunny day in beautiful Northumberland this week to visit Lindisfarne en route to giving inspection feedback to a Berwick first school.
The Holy Island is, of course, linked to the mainland by a tidal causeway covered by the sea for part of the day. Tide tables are clearly posted around, but you can guess the rest. The school received a distressed phone call to say the inspector had been cut off by the tide. She eventually turned up, red-faced, at 8pm.
