Like Anne Smith at John Ruskin College, we too have developed significant links with students and teachers abroad and it is commonplace for many of our General National Vocational Qualification and A-level students to spend some of their time in a European country or in the USA.
However, opportunities to travel and learn should not stop at the age of 19. Our college Over-50‘s Club, currently with a membership of 489, regularly provides opportunities for the “younger students” among them to travel in France, Holland and Germany.
If we are to educate our students as Europeans then it is important that we provide the opportunities for all in further education. Age is no barrier to the opportunity for international links.
