It’s time to boo state school sneers

I have been undecided about whether we should strike because of the dire economic climate we are in (“A bubble of optimism, but the fizz stays on ice”, 11 November). But no longer! Home secretary Theresa May (right) very clearly made the distinction between “public-sector workers and those that pay taxes” on a recent edition of BBC1‘s Question Time.

For the record, I pay plenty of tax, national insurance, pension contributions, council tax and utility bills, and then I put my hard-earned wages back into the private sector by shopping. I have no illusions now about the strike and will back it to the hilt.
