Jobs intitiative

An initiative to help young people in care find work starts next week at Hadlow College of Agriculture and Horticulture in Kent.

Three-quarters of young people in care leave school without any formal qualifications and half remain unemployed at 17.

The initiative "Breaking the Cycle" - from the Royal Philanthropic Society and the charity Mayne Nickless Europe plc - offers 10-week vocational and social training, initially to 10 young people.

After training they will be offered further guidance towards employment or help setting up co-operative gardening businesses.
