More schools should use restorative justice to deal with misbehaviour, education minister Ivan Lewis has said.
The approach, already adopted by several primary and secondary schools, involves wrongdoers apologising to their victims and agreeing to make amends.
The minister was due to announce yesterday that the Youth Justice Board would invest an extra pound;100,000 into restorative justice projects in schools after research suggested they were reducing victimisation, truancy and exclusions.
