The Government’s “National Curriculum in Action” website displays a worksheet for key stage 3 pupils that scrutinises the diet of an underfed, over-nicotined model called “Kate”. Decorated with cartoon images of a pack of fags and a beautiful woman reclining, the sheet paints a picture of a lady with dangerously low levels of protein, iron and fat in her diet and far too much tobacco smoke in her lungs. “Kate’s diet needs a rapid rethink otherwise she will be heading for serious exhaustion,” it concludes.
Stick thin, suffering from exhaustion, and fond of a ciggy or three? The Diary is sure any resemblance to supermodel Kate Moss, who checked herself in with “exhaustion” to the Priory Clinic in 1999, is pure coincidence.
