Religious observance in non-denominational schools should continue to be “broadly Christian in character”, but assemblies should be taken occasionally by representatives of minority faiths, East Renfrewshire has told the review group on observance. The latest poll on Roman Catholic schools, for the Herald, shows that 48 per cent of Scots want them abolished, as do 29 per cent of Catholics.
