Of course there is good discipline in Finnish schools - better than in British ones, it seems (“Finnishing school”, 6 May). This is probably due to schools there being a lot less petty about rules, thus avoiding the consequent trouble between teachers and those who are taught.
If Michael Gove thinks so highly of Finland, why doesn’t he follow its example properly by doing away with uniforms and petty rules, and introducing a more laid-back atmosphere?
