The first in a series of three , Maths Challenge 1 is for bright pupils in Years 7 and 8. Topics include working with large numbers and rounding, an exploration of Mobius bands, and a study of some ideas from the early history of computing. Pupils are encoraged to question and discuss ideas .

Each section begins with a statement of intended learning outcomes, required organisation and equipment. Comments and solutions are provided, and a glossary gives precise definitions for the mathematical terms used. This book will enrich the experience of able children .
