Hannah: I have never had Valentine's Day in secondary school, so I don't know what it will be like. In primary, people just put letters in their trays and stuff. And then they would try and figure out who sent them. It's awkward.
Nic: Our school didn't do much at all. Probably just some valentine activity I've tried to block out.
Jack: In primary school, we had a disco. With dancing.
Nic: When you walk around and you see random people in like pink suits and stuff, it's a bit cheesy. And pointless. Someone in my primary school slipped a card into a girl's backpack. I don't think it worked, because I remember seeing him do it, and then she saw it.
Hannah: If you were going to do that, you would do that on Valentine's Day, though. It would be a bit weird to do it any other day.
Jack: Your friends would take the mickey out of you for the rest of your life.
Nic: Everything is so awkward at the moment.
Jack: If you hang out with girls, somebody is going to think they are smart and start taking the mick.
Nic: Dates at our age aren't really like a date, it's just like going to the park.
Hannah: I have a friend who has a crush on someone, but I don't think they would give them a valentine card. They'll probably do nothing.
Nic: I think I know someone who will give someone a valentine card, `cos they're going out. I think it's just another day and it's really cheesy, if you're approaching someone, sticking a card into their bag. Talk to them face to face, but don't slip a card into their bag. It's just weird.
Hannah: I think when you get older it will probably be even more cheesy. I think the school should ignore it.
Nic: I think the cheesiest things I have seen are the cartoony cards.
Hannah: Yeah, the cartoon ones.
Jack: Or the cards you open and they sing a message.
Nic: They weigh a ton. You hold it and you're like "hmm, I wonder what's in this huge card".
Hannah: And there are the big massive ones.
Jack: I think a box of chocolates might not be so bad, or a rose. Nothing too extravagant.
Hannah: Probably a packet of Love Hearts, `cos you can eat them.
Nic:.remove the evidence. There is always that one person who gets a creepy note from someone that says "from your secret admirer".
Hannah: And then everyone else spends the rest of the day trying to figure out who it was.
Jack: I think Valentine's Day should be a national holiday.
Hannah: Or at the weekend.
