THE GTC remains concerned that it is not represented on the national action group on modern languages. The Scottish Office has told the council that members “are not nominated by any particular organisation”.

John Mulgrew, the group’s chairman, said it was happy to listen to the GTC’s views but an action group had to be “tightly knit” to get things done, which was not possible if every conceivable interest was represented.
