An Edinburgh primary is the first in Scotland to join a network of European schools where a minority language is used next to the national language.

Carrick Knowe Primary will be representing English and Scots in the Mercator Network of Bilingual Schools and will be linking up with other bilingual schools around Europe. The Network of Schools aims to encourage contact between the different member schools and their pupils, and promote collaboration on joint projects so that they can learn from each other directly.
