Things are worse if you use power-hungry features like the DVD drive or a wireless connection. Now Taiwanese company Antig Technology is preparing to launch a laptop PC early next year that is powered by a combination of fuel cell technology and lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. The laptop will use a CD-sized fuel cell containing methanol and offer up to eight hours operating time from a single fuel cartridge. When the methanol supply is exhausted, it can be simply topped up again.
* One of the banes of using a laptop out and about is battery power. Even though laptops now have power-saving features and processors, you're lucky if you can get more than two or three hours work from a laptop battery.
