I am a final-year student studying to be a primary teacher. I have worked hard over the past four years. I have pound;8,000-worth of student loans and a huge overdraft.
But I may no longer be able to teach. I have passed the trainee maths test but have used three lifelines in English, so have just one chance left. If I do not pass this time I cannot get qualified teacher status. I got straight As for y teaching practice and have been told by many people how good I am in the classroom. I cannot believe that a test which is not relevant to teaching five-year-olds is going to jeopardise my whole future.
I thought this government was trying to encourage people to go into teaching. I do not understand how it can put even more pressure on us.
