Music for Youth, the music charity, is to hold its national festival in Birmingham this year.

The festival, which runs from July 10 to 15, will be held at venues including the Symphony Hall, Birmingham Conservatoire and Barfly, one of the chain of venues that showcases new rock music.. Performers will be come from primary and secondary schools around the country.

The charity, which is sponsored by The TES, has also announced that it will hold the festival in Birmingham, every year until 2010.
