Not all children share adults’ enthusiasm for apples. Le Crunch Crew is a resource pack intended to persuade the dissident 30 per cent to change their eating habits. The Crew is a bunch of animated apples spending a day under the benign guidance of Granny Smith. On video, we see them telling stories and reciting poems with a fruity flavour, and doing various healthy things. On activity sheets, children at key stage 2 are encouraged to imitate them by pursuing their own programme of reading, writing, cooking and exercising. There’s also a poster explaining words such as cholesterol, and an art competition. Le Crunch Crew can be ordered free for schools from Rapport Learning, Abbot House, 1-2 Hanover Street, London W1S 1YZ. Please write on official school paper or fax direct to: 020 7495 7916.
