SCHOOLS Fantasy League has launched a community Charity Award Programme for schools to support the Government-backed Giving Nation initiative.

This aims to encourage a stronger culture of giving in schools as part of the citizenship curriculum.

Fantasy League has invited all 1,000 schools and 50,000 pupils participating in the schools league this season to take part. They can submit an entry for one of 12 regional awards of pound;250 by giving details of how they are supporting a local charity and what they have learned from the experience.

A panel of experts from Schools Fantasy League, Giving Nation and the education sector will consider all applications received from schools by the deadline date of Friday, May 2.
