Conference life is not all sybaritic luxury despite complaints about cash-strapped Aberdeenshire’s high-living heads. Their Argyll and Bute counterparts found themselves in an Inveraray hotel whee workmen were noisily repairing the flat roof above the conference suite.
“It’s just like school,” said one delegate. “It was good of the hotel to help us feel so much at home.”
