Learn to teach, musicians urged

PROFESSIONAL musicians will be urged to take teaching qualifications to help address the shortage of specialist staff under plans backed by Charles Clarke, the Education Secretary. The proposals are in a rescue package for school music drawn up by leading musicians - including Sir James Galway and Evelyn Glennie - presented to Mr Clarke this week.
