ONLINE LESSON plans for teachers, educational games for children and help with learning at home are three of the many new features to be found on Learnfree.co.uk, the TES-backed website which is relaunched today.

The free site - aimed at teachers, pupils and learners - has been running successfully all summer but appears for the autumn term with a new easy-to-use format and lots of extra content.

New for teachers are ready-to-use lesson plans - initially provided by educational publishers - and advice on savings and pensions. New for parents are the guides to the national curriculum at each key stage and linked homelearning materials, all written by teachers. There is also advice on choosing schools, home-school contracts, parents’ evenings, national tests, English as a second language and special needs.

New for learners is help with study skills, GCSE revision and guidance, and a growing section on choosing a university course and making the most of finances.

Other features include the chance to use samples of textbooks and revision guides for free - with the option of buying books online - specially commissioned education games for primary pupils, a virtual staffroom and advice on the best educational websites, recommended educational software and access to TES book reviews. Learnfree will also continue to grow rapidly in the future, so it is worth revisiting the site regularly to see what’s new.

Learnfree is also available as a free internet service provider, with the extra benefits of safe surfing, unlimited free e-mail addresses and free website space.
