The TESS is playing an even more prominent role in the annual SETT learning festival in September, one of the biggest events in the Scottish education calendar.

The TES Scotland lecture, aimed at new and student teachers, and the first on September 20 will bring together in discussion one of Scotland’s most experienced heads, Gordon Mackenzie of Balwearie High in Kirkcaldy, and Jane Harrison, a newly-qualified teacher who won the George Gray award this year for the best BEd final year thesis.

Dame Marie Stubbs, the Glasgow-born head noted for turning round the London school where the murdered Philip Lawrence was headteacher, also will appear.
