LECTURERS will today launch a ballot for industrial action which could see widespread disruption to university admissions in protest at a “derisory” 3 per cent pay offer. The Association of University Teachers seeks a 10 per cent rise as the first instalment on closing a 35 per cent pay gap with similar professions.
