The letter written by an overworked and underpaid solicitor, in response to the feature “A crazy choice” (TES, November 8) contained all that is needed to illustrate why “good honours graduates” prefer the law to teaching.
If he compared his salary at 50 to the teachers considering retirement at 55 and 57 in News Focus (TES, November 15), he would see differences of between 35 and 40 per cent.
