Leicester's July deadline to improve

THE GOVERNMENT has threatened to intervene in Leicester's education service unless the city acts to raise standards by July.

Last year, the Office for Public Management was brought in after a critcal Office for Standards in Education report. OPM called for an independent, eight-member board to work with the council, a support agency to work with schools and a new education director.
