Lesson ideas

Creativity and drama:

* Using same-face templates draw different features.

* Watch the 1956 movie Forbidden Planet.

* Play the game "If x was a carfruitpiece of furniture, what would they be?"

* Do mirroring activities in pairs.

* Play "Who am I?", where someone thinks of a person and the others have 20 questions to guess who it is.

Numeracy and science:

* Explore big numbers, such as billions.

* Survey children's individual characteristics - their likes and dislikes, preferences, and the age of their earliest memory. Make graphs of the results.

* Label a diagram of the brain and look at the functions of different areas.

* Look at diagrams of male and female brains.


* Talk about what makes people's characters different. If you weren't yourself, who would you like to be and why?

* Make a cartoon storyboard about little people who control brain functions, ie sight and movement.

* Write about being very small, like Alice in Wonderland.

* Read extracts from The Strange Case of Doctor Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson.
