Lessons made easier

A new association has been set up to help and offer support to media teachers across England and Wales.

The Media Education Association, launched officially this month, aims to be a voice for all those involved with media teaching and learning.

Funded by grants from the Department for Education and Skills, the UK film council and media regulator Ofcom, the association has set up an interactive website offering resources, chat forums and research opportunities to its members.

Professor David Buckingham, director of the Centre for the Study of Children, Youth and Media, said: "The association should be able to play an important role, not just in promoting good practice and encouraging informed debate, but also in influencing national policy."
