There’s a danger if progressive English teachers abandon Shakespeare to the WoodheadWindsor axis. Key Stage 3 Bard-testing is clearly asinine but the writer who practically invented the English language plus human nature itself remains at the heart of any worthwhile definition of the teaching of English.
