Is anyone seriously proposing that sex and relationship education be left in the hands of young people who have yet to work through for themselves the implications of long-term serious relationships (TES November1)?
It is, perhaps, not surpising that younger pupils find such lesson more “fun”. However, we should be worried in the extreme if teachers do not have the courage to provide a moral framework of some description in this important area of a young person’s development.
How can we hope to provide any kind of training to future generations if we are not prepared to accept responsibility for it ourselves?
