No amount of protest by the parents and staff has made any difference, despite our successful reputation, so it was rewarding to see that other infant or junior schools have been so successful independently of one another. In response to the letter from Jim Marriott (p25 TES February 28), regarding the chief inspector's report, we too had noticed that 205 of the 296 schools in the particularly successful list were either church school or separate phase. This was particularly pertinent to us as we are on the list as an infant school and yet we are to be amalgamated with our neighbouring junior school.
