School libraries are at last attracting the attention they deserve. As last week’s article in The TES explained, there have been two major developments (“School libraries get campaign boost”, February 19): former education secretary Estelle Morris is chairing a school library commission and the School Library Association has launched a charter for primaries.
If the Government thought the issue would go away when it rejected a 5,707-signature petition to make school libraries statutory, campaigners have proved it wrong.
