Library gets its book back after 25 years

A GUILTY conscience finally got the better of Mohammed Bopkreta and he returned his library book to Lambeth College - 25 years overdue.

Librarians received the electrical engineering book last week, dated as due back November 3,1977.

The question of imposing a fine was out of the question, Adrian Perry, principal of Lambeth, said. "He is probably beyond the reach of even our librarian's powers - he lives in Algiers."

What about a slot in the Guinness Book of Records? "The idea of claiming this is a record might be fun," he said. (FE Focus would like to hear from anyone who can beat the record.) To add insult to injury, the 30-year-old book is on radio communications, a course the college stopped running 15 years ago.
