Lines on the lack of support

First Cosla came for the supply teachers, and I thought: “So what?” - Because I was not a supply teacher.

Then the Scottish Government came for the chartered teachers, and I thought:

“The EIS will surely look after me.” - Because I was not on the chartered teacher scheme.

Then the SNCT came for the promoted post-holders, but I did not change to a more supportive union - Because I was not a promoted post- holder.

Then they came for me - and the EIS would not speak up for me.

(With apologies to Martin Niemoller but not to the Educational Institute of Scotland.)
