Literacy put to the test

Primary pupils across Wales will soon have their literacy skills tested as part of a new series of assessments developed by experts.

The All-Wales English and Welsh Literacy tests will assess spelling, grammar and punctuation skills. They were developed by Robert Powell, former head of the National Foundation for Education Research Wales, along with education psychologists at Swansea Council, in response to requests from schools using the popular All-Wales Reading Tests.
