As word and picture banks become standard features of school-based word processors, how is this software for emergent readers and writers different? The words are accessed via a series of layered images, starting with a picture of, for instance, a classroom. It is a simple and logical procedure.

You can click on a word to hear it spoken by a child or add it to a word-processed document. Pupils can click on an image (a tree, for example) to insert a word, or click on a letter to choose from a list of words, sentence starters and links.
