MATCHWORD. Kingscourt Publishing, 20 British Grove, London W4 2NL. pound;99.95. Tel: 020 8543 1234. www.kingscourt.co.uk

A pricey but excellent program that allows children to create a range of literacy worksheets and activities. There is nothing here that you couldn’t do with other programs; it would just take longer.

Matchword has gathered all the word lists - of high and medium frequency words, for instance - for key stages 1 and 2. You can compile images for “ay” words, for example, then create illustrations, crosswords, word searches, braille, sign, and multiple-choice activities. My only quibble is that you can’t change fonts for handwriting sheets. This program is a real time-saver.
