Liverpool lauded

Liverpool community college has been praised by inspectors after it was rated as outstanding in four subject categories.

The Office for Standards in Education said the standard of teaching was well above average. It singled out English, visual and performing arts and media, literacy and numeracy, and provision for disabilities for praise.

Leadership and support for students were also rated as outstanding.

Inspectors said a pound;45 million investment in new buildings had generated great improvements.
