Eight leading national bodies for colleges and training firms have created a single group to lobby for more influence with government.

They include the Association of Colleges, Association for College Management, the lecturers’ union Natfhe and others responsible for adult education, training and curriculum development.

Leaders of the organisations have drafted a “Concord”, which they hope ministers will sign as a “shared vision” for the learning and skills sector. The group is sponsored by The TES.

The Charlotte Group, named after its first meeting in London’s Charlotte Street hotel, will this week publish the draft concord and invite wider responses, which will be published in FE Focus through a regular Open Forum.
