The ‘logic’ of discrimination

I WAS appalled by the article by Graham Jones, “How to extract the hopeless hopefuls”(FE Focus, January 17). In the paragraph beginning “First, there is the advertisementI”, Mr Jones remarks “No redundant bank managers, ex-RAF officers, brigadiers, colonels or former Andersen accountants need apply”.

I wonder how he would feel confronted with being discriminated against in such a way that “former principals” need not apply. On this logic, presumably he would be quite happy to say “no ethnic minorities, members of religious sects, disabled people or women need apply”.
