Long-delayed helpline for school governors to open in January

A long-delayed helpline for school governors is now likely to open in January, with ministers set to approve an pound;180,000-a-year scheme put together by the National Governors’ Council and the National Association of Governors and Managers.

The helpline, wich will be modelled on the existing Teacherline scheme, will be staffed by experienced governors, and open at evenings and weekends - providing the country’s 350,000 governors with expert advice and support when they need it.
