Looked-after pupils lose in long-term

Looked-after children do not go on to university because of an “overriding lack of support” during their education, according to a European study led by academics from the Institute of Education. Most looked-after children suffer severe disruption in their schooling, and in the UK fewer than half reach expected academic levels at age 16.
