God’s house, like the chief executive’s door, is “always open”. But anyone who took up the chance to enjoy a discussion of “values, beliefs and faiths in FE” at Lambeth Palace last week will have found that tea with the vicar can be a little more expensive than a half-hour’s chinwag with their earthly boss.

Tribal - one of the Government’s favourite contractors - was involved in the get-together, lavishly publicised by PR firm The Answer.

For an example of The Answer’s up-to-date communication, you need look no further than its website, the first page of which grandly announces: “The Answer is proud to support the City Information Group (CIG). The CIG will have its forthcoming Christmas party at the Science Museum on 27 November 2006.”

That aside, the question is, how much did it cost to attend this discussion at the palace? A mere pound;150, although “faith leaders” and chaplains could go for a special discount price of pound;50.
