Lost posts

One in five secondary schools have shed at least one deputy head's post in the past three years, according to a Secondary Heads Association survey. The survey of 680 schools shows that the elimination of deputy headships has been most marked in local authority schools, while just one in 20 grant-maintained schools have reduced posts.
