THE DECISION to increase the subsidy for teachers to buy laptop computers from pound;200 to pound;500 will no doubt increase the sign-up rate for New Opportunity Fund training. It is rather unfortunate, however, that significantly fewer teachers will now benefit.
I particularly enjoy the lottry element. First I must buy a system and send off a claim. If I am lucky I may get a subsidy.
The decision to charge suppliers for “approving” their products must be the piece-de-resistance.
